Looks like I’ll beat Howard onto Sirius radio by about a year or so. My friend and talk-show guru Brian Wilson will be anchoring an ABC radio “Live At 125” election-week special on the Sirius satellite network all next week. I’ll be joining him on Monday to discuss...ummm...I guess Tuesday’s election or something. The show airs from 1 to 3 p.m. EST. If you’re a Sirius subscriber, dial up the program on Monday and/or give us a call. The toll-free listener hotline is 1-800-318-TALK.

Last week, Frontiers of Freedom released a report titled "Prescription for Fear: Scaring Seniors Away from Savings." The report lists some pretty outrageous statements by HillaryCare socialists who are trying to scare the pants off seniors over the new prescription drug cards. Despite the fact that many Democrats voted FOR the new drug benefit, many of those same Democrats are now trying to undermine the cards’ effectiveness by trashing them on the campaign stump. Who’d a thunk it?

Contrary to the accusations being made in this latest incarnation of Medi-Scare, the average time it takes to sign up for the new discount card is only about 11 minutes...and seniors are seeing savings of 17-24 percent off retail prices. Not too shabby. Read "Prescription for Fear" at

“Something strange happened after the first screenings of 'Team America: World Police': The Left squealed and squealed - not with delight, but in indignation, disbelief and fury. They were being skewered in this movie, and they weren't used to it. They are never skewered in movies. They own the movies! How could this happen?”

- Columnist Jay Nordlinger

“Campaigning with the party's presidential nominee normally is seen as a plus for candidates, but not for many of this year's crop of Democratic Senate hopefuls. In the states featuring the tightest Senate contests - Alaska, Colorado, Florida, Louisiana, Oklahoma, North Carolina, South Carolina and South Dakota - the Democrats appear to be deliberately avoiding Mr. Kerry for fear of alienating moderate and undecided voters.”

- Washington Times, 10/27/04

“The media are too busy repackaging old Iraq news in an October offensive against President George W. Bush's reelection to investigate truly startling evidence unearthed this week that the Communist Party may have been directing John Kerry's anti-war activities in the early 1970s. . . . The objective was to organize high-profile activities to undermine support for the Vietnam War, including holding hearings on alleged war crimes, lobbying Congress to oppose the war, exploiting the families of American POWs and urging servicemen to return their service medals.

“Not only did John Kerry and his group Vietnam Veterans Against the War follow this game plan, but Kerry went to Paris to meet with the communist official designated as the point of contact for guiding these activities. In June 1970, Kerry met with Madame Binh, foreign minister of the Provisional Revolutionary Government (Viet Cong) of South Vietnam and a delegate to the Paris Peace Talks. The documents discovered this weekend are available for viewing at”

“American elections and Iraq are linked tightly together. We’ve got to work to change the election, and we’ve done so. With our strikes, we’ve dragged Bush into the mud.”

- Terrorist Abu Jalal explaining what he and his band of brothers are doing in Iraq on behalf of their chosen candidate, John Kerry

“Now you have to ask yourself just why would America-hating Islamic terrorists be against George Bush? Easy. Because they fear him, that's why. Because he has vowed to destroy them, and they believe him, that's why. Terrorists like to be appeased, not destroyed. They like to be given numerous chances to clean up their behavior, then slapped on the wrist when they keep chopping off innocent people's heads. They know that they will get their way, that America will cower in fear, when John Kerry is elected president of the United States.”

- Talk show host Neal Boortz, 10/27/04

“Why is no one stressing this point: If Kerry had his way, not only would Saddam still be in power, he'd still be in Kuwait!”

- News & Views reader

“To my knowledge, John Kerry is the first candidate to run for the Presidency that has a ‘prenuptial’ agreement with his wife. Think about it: If John Kerry’s wife doesn’t trust him with her money, why should we trust him with ours?”

“The right to vote is precious, the politicians preach. Our democracy hangs in the balance, the pundits screech. Yes, but if we all value the sanctity of the voting process so highly, why is it that I've never once been asked to produce identification of any kind in the 16 years I've been a voter, from Ohio to California to Washington state to Maryland? And why is it that we can't protect our elections from people who have no right to vote, no right to be here, and no right to undermine our safety or sovereignty?

“While unhinged Democrats spread fear about the alleged discriminatory disenfranchisement of American citizens, they have supported the indiscriminate enfranchisement of untold numbers of foreign outlaws-including suspected al Qaeda operatives and terrorist sympathizers. Last week, the Columbus (Ohio) Dispatch reported that illegal alien Nuradin Abdi, the suspected shopping mall bomb plotter from Somalia, was registered to vote in the battleground state of Ohio by the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN), a left-wing activist group.”

- Columnist Michelle Malkin

“The head of the postal services letter carriers union, one Bill Young, is ‘outraged at the allegation’ made by a Bush/Cheney lawyer that letter carriers just might not deliver campaign materials to homes in Florida ‘that appear Republican.’ Regardless of Young’s outrage my own personnel experience tells me that what the lawyer is concerned about is possible.

“I take you back to November of 1960. I am a reporter covering the Kennedy/Nixon campaign and two days before the election find myself in Hyannis Port, Mass., with the Kennedys. Knowing I would be there I had my wife airmail (we had airmail in those days ) my absentee ballot to me care of the Hyannis Port post office. In those days I voted in California and my vote would be valid if my absentee ballot was postmarked by midnight of election day.

“I go to the post office and ask if there is mail for me. The man looks and says no. and I said I’ll be back tomorrow because it’s important because it’s my absent ballot. Of course you’re voting for Kennedy, he said. Stupidly I replied, in a pig’s eye.

“To make a long story short somehow or other my ballot never arrived in Hyannis Port until the day after the election. Gee, that’s too bad, the clerk at the post office said, handing me my ballot and shedding great crocodile tears.

“So there you are. Don’t think for a moment that post office employees aren’t capable of not delivering your mail when they don’t like what it is.”

“’President Bush said in an interview this past weekend that he disagreed with the Republican Party platform opposing civil unions of same-sex couples and that the matter should be left up to the states,’ The New York Times reports. In ‘Live and Let Live,’ Cato adjunct scholar Richard A. Epstein writes: ‘When President Bush, for example, talks about the need to 'protect' the sanctity of marriage, his plea is a giant non sequitur because he does not explain what, precisely, he is protecting marriage against. No proponent of gay marriage wants to ban traditional marriage, or to burden couples who want to marry with endless tests, taxes and delays. All gay-marriage advocates want to do is to enjoy the same rights of association that are held by other people.’ "
